Three to watch
Local jewelry designers
By Tiffany J. Davis
Ahh, summer. A time for cleaning out the closet, crash diets and instant
gratification–style-wise, at least. And this year, in particular,
jewelry designers seem to be making a comeback when it comes to tipping
the fashion scales. From semiprecious stones and silver to filigree and
fine metals, The Sunday Paper’s got three great (and local) reasons to
indulge in a few world-class accessories this season.

Design philosophy: “My line is designed to be fresh and distinctive. I use a unique variety of
colors and materials to create pieces that enhance a woman's personal style and are fun to wear.”
Jewelry description: It’s
no surprise that Lee counts butterflies among her sources of
inspiration--to call Frolick jewelry “fresh” might be the
understatement of the year. Think bright-colored necklaces that make a
statement: all of the corals and turquoises so popular this season,
plus a few sterling and pearl pieces you’ll want to pass down later.
This line is jeans-and-a-white-tee friendly or just bold enough to pair
with the simplest of black dresses. "Good clothes open all doors, great
jewelry is the key," Lee says.
